I used to be obsessed with the enneagram years and years ago when I came across Miriam adahans book. I couldn't figure out whether I was 4 or 6. And it drove me crazy.
Years later someone mentioned that perhaps I'm a 5 with 4 and 6 wings.
But now 5 doesn't either quite resonate, So who knows? It doesn't matter all that much anymore to me.
Op I am curious though about 3s I would not have thought a 3 would be interested in this system so much.

The reason I love it is because I have to be on top of my game in every area, when I touch on a topic I must know it thru and thru. Politics, history, jewish thought, I am obsessed with knowing something thoroughly because I need to know everything better than you!

I hear. That's so interesting.
I actually also do deep dives on stuff but it's more coming from a place like I need to get to the complete bottom of this. Surface level won't do. Not in comparison to others I just need to ferl like I really understand the topic I'm interested on a deep level only then does it feel satisfying.

Tell you my personality? Well, for sure if it were possible for anyone to write down their entire personality in a post, you’d be able to give them their enneagram number, since all you’d be doing is translating numbers to words.
But even if some people view themselves so plainly, I can’t see myself that way, and try not so see others that way either. How could I write down who I am and hand it over to you just like that, for you to know me and tell me more about myself than I already know?
Alright, maybe I’m being too arrogant here. Certainly, it’s possible for people to notice things about you from the outside that you aren’t that aware of. Receiving such feedback is one of life’s greatest joys, or pains, depending on how it hits us.
But still, I wonder… would you really be able to pinpoint me with one number? And have you spent as much time researching this topic as I have, looking at wings, and tri-types, watching the videos of panels of people claiming different enneagram numbers, trying to find where you fit in? Is it here? Or maybe here…?
Have you been down all the other rabbit holes of other typing systems, gone deeper and deeper trying to understand yourself and others, realizing how complex and intricate and different we all are - but coming out the other end realizing how none of this actually matters because underneath it all we are all one?
I apologize if my tone sounds strong. It’s actually a compliment because I am trusting you with more of my real self than I normally do with people I don’t know, for the purpose of analysis, of course. But if you met me in real life you wouldn’t see this side of me at first. Instead I would be much sweeter, trying to give you the side of myself that would be the nicest for you. Not because I need you to like me but because I want to be good and make you feel good.
There. That should be enough about me for you to go on.

5 would be my guess but the true test is vice and virtues. Do u often feel envy of others lives or like ure life is missing something?
Or do u relate more to the protection of ure resources, trying to need very little and retain as much as you cud

Thanks. No, I’m likely a 4w5. Or perhaps a 6. The older I get the more I can accept the 6 parts in me. When I did the tritype test I got 461.
Anyway, these days I’m more into Jungian cognitive functions and Human Design/Gene Keys.

I have thought of myself as a bunch of different ones but curious what you would say.
I am:
- excellent in social situations
- excellent communicator
- very self aware
- wise
- intelligent and deep but not good with numbers/abstract ideas and not airy fairy spiritual.
- great problem solver, creative thinker
- easily overwhelmed and anxious
- when in the zone can hyper focus and get tons done
- doesn't like confrontation, a bit of a people pleaser.
- empath and generous
- opinionated
- likes things, ideas, expectations to be clear and organized but in real life I struggle with actual upkeep of this.
- justice is huge for me
- struggles with consistency and follow through even though I have brilliant ideas.
- wants to matter/make a difference/be needed
- care to look good and have nice gashmius but my laziness or desire for comfort trumps that.
I have ADHD so some of this is not personality but part of my neurodivergence.
