I have a 9 month old. he vomited twice, each time vomiting full contents of his stomach. He had diarrhea twice as well. Current diaper is 4 hours dry. We’re not sure if he hasn’t peed longer than that because his last diaper had diarrhea so we’re not sure where the liquid is from. 2 diapers before that had very little pee
No fever

Called his pediatricians emergency number but no answer.

What do I do?

Please don’t freak me out. I’m a FTM with a lot of anxiety

The main thing is that he doesn't dehydrate,
Is he on formula or nursing?
Don't give him any solids or any plain water.
If he is not holding down the formula or milk give him small amounts every minute or 2 in a syringe 2-4 ml/cc.

Don't worry.
Just take a syringe and make sure he is drinking 5cc every 20 minutes or so.
Does he have fever?

As others have said, try get some fluids into him. And continue to reach your dr. No need to freak out, but don't ignore.

Give him very small amounts of liquid, like a teaspoon every 5 minutes. If you nurse, nurse for 5 min, detach, wait 10 minutes, nurse again. It’s grueling but necessary.

There is medicine against vomiting, try giving a suppository and hope it absorbs before his next diarrhea

Baby is still sick. Dr said not to give formula, only pedialyte until diarrhea goes away. We did give him formula for a few hours today because it seemed the diarrhea had stopped. When it restarted we switched back to pedialyte as per the Drs instructions. My baby is so hungry. His tummy is rumbling.he’s crying in hunger. Pedialyte hydrates but doesn’t satiate. What should I do? Do I give him formula? Should I give him solids?

Speak to your doctor. Some doctors believe in starving the bug out and that can take 24 hours without food. If he okays it, you could try cooking rice in a lot of water until the water goes a bit thick and giving him the water.

I feel stupid calling the doctor. Just went to him today. It doesn’t feel urgent enough to warrant a late night call

This is weird. It shouldn’t have meant to be taken for days… how is he supposed to do with no food?

What if you give him dry crackers or rice? A 9 month old can eat that

He had it for 24 hours. Then we switched to formula. The diarrhea came back. He’s been 6 hours on the pefialyte again

If it continues with happening again after starting formula it could be he needs a special formula and it isn't a stomach bug.
Try hold off formula for as long as possible even after diarrhea stops to give time for the stomach to heal.
Continue giving rice &banana and of you are worried about proper food you can scramble and egg with the rice, but I'd advise to wait a bit for that

It isn’t the formula. He caught the bug from my relatives. It’s been going around. Thank you!
