There is no issue if the toilet is not being used, also only Torah/ Jewish words are an issue.

Only learning and words of Torah are an issue. So no, no one in my family learns gives a dvar Torah in the bathroom but yes, we do speak normally otherwise

For men, any talk is a problem while it's being "used"

For women, I remember learning that it's not an issue

I do not like when my kids talk to me through the bathroom door. I tell them I will talk when I come out. It feels like an invasion of privacy.

I don’t speak words of Torah or chat, but I have little kids and often when I’m in the bathroom (whether using the bathroom or taking a shower) there are kids calling me, a baby crying, someone got hurt, kids fighting etc so I’m often calling out to them things like I’m coming in a minute, please don’t fight, etc. If the kids are asking me non urgent questions I tell them to wait until I come out.
My husband the same, the kids are little, they talk.

This, I won’t have conversations through the bathroom door. I didn’t know it’s a Jewish thing, it just feels impolite and bothersome. (I’ll answer an important question if needed)

...I picked only little kids but honestly mom here ends up talking because as soon as I lock door people start knocking and calling me if I don't say something they will do it whole time no matter how Long I'm there

Also, if the bath is in a separate room, it's not a bathroom ( ironically)

We were taught not to speak words of torah or holy words in the bathroom (no saying baruch Hashem).

The one person I knew who didn't speak in the bathroom was following something from kabalah IIRC, not halacha.
