I love my students. Every single one of them, no matter what they bring the table. I truly feel each child who is picked to be in my class is true Hashgacha Pratis and make it my duty to help every single one achieve their best, no matter the skillset they come in with or what challenges they may face. I often bend over backwards yet always with compassion and utmost deep care for each and every one.

I am so utterly frustrated with my school. Words cannot describe. I DO NOT want to leave the students. Yet I cannot take this level of frustration. Frustrated to the point that I am sick from it.
I am off now to figure out where I go from here. I absolutely love what I do and would feel terribly to leave the kids. It brings me much joy to work with them. They are happy and learning. Skills and academically.

I dont even know what do to. Venting here, really. Realistically the logistics always checked there which kept me. I cannot afford to leave and together with the logistics also kept me there. I dont know that logistics of another school would work out for me. I want to trust that if I leave, then Hashem will just take care of the situation. Yet hard for me to rely on that when I need the income to cover my expenses.
(Above all, really the kids and wanting to work with them is a big motivator each year I stayed and I try so hard to keep admin off my back so I can just do what I love and enjoy)

If you think you know who I am just read and move on and I am sorry if you are reading this, assuming I am your child's teacher. Only interested in answer to my original question. The rest was to explain my dilemma.

Thanks.

Will your principal give you a letter of recommendation? You'll probably need that to find another job

You sound like many teachers I know. Our schools do not treat teachers nicely.

It's time to start thinking about a new job for next year. (If you're lucky, you might even find something mid-year. You won't know till you look.)

You'll still have to survive this year. But it's a lot easier when you know a this is your last year and you don't have to deal with them ever again. Also makes it easier to just say no to some of their ridiculous demands. What are they going to do fire you? You're leaving anyways.

I worked for some pretty horrible schools. Thinking back, except for one where I didn't have the resources to keep my class happy so it was always miserable. The others I could have made work. Learning to respectfully ignore the administration. Learning not to take them personally. Learning different ways of communicating to respect myself. Setting up emotional boundaries around them.

If you're working for truly disordered people, this isn't going to work. But your average annoying administration this can work.

This sounds like me. Literally word for word. I continued until it became clear to me that I couldn't anymore. For my family's sake, for my own sake... B"H B"H Hashem guided my steps. I am still in Chinuch, still working with kids. My schedule isn't as ideal. My paycheck is smaller. But I'm in a loving supportive environment, and there in no comparison. I get you sister, and hope Hashem guides your steps too. It's a lot more common then you think. It's very very sad that this is what many administrations have come to.

I always wondered how the school I attended got such great teachers, because the administration was just an alphabet soup of personality disorders and principal turnover was high. They went majorly downhill since I left for this reason.
So so thankful though for the teachers who saved my future.

I'm thinking about joining the administration of a new school. These posts are making me nervous. Can you share more specifically what kind of terrible admin you're all referring to?

I won't go into details.

Please uphold the same values you expect your teachers to uphold.
Please promote fairness throughout the department.
Remember, each person is an individual, no matter what situation comes up and we are all in this together.
Be compassionate and BELIEVE IN and TRUST your teachers that they are doing their best.
If you feel their productivity is not on par with what you need, do not punish or criticize. Offer to help either by offering an effective solution that is practical for the situation or have an open ended conversation to figure it out.

I know some bad apples fall into the teacher body of the school and decisions have to be made sometimes. Your average GOOD teacher is not purposely trying to make things difficult for you.

Reflection and problem solving comes from admin end too. You are not always right. Admit fault where needed. We all make mistakes and can improve. Do not throw the blame on the teacher every time. It is not always the case.

Start doing research on the other schools in your area and put together a list of questions for when you call pple.
