DD waitlisted (aka rejected) from camp- Chizzuk please!!

DD is a great kid all round.
Didn't get into sleep-away camps last summer because doesn't have an older sister to pave the way.
Got our (first) rejection letter of this season.
She is distraught.
I'm keeping positive. Maybe the other camps will have room.
DD is just gloom and doom.
I don't know what to even say to her. She was burned last year and can't keep up positivity and optimism.

Have your school call for you. Most schools have someone in charge of helping girls get into camp.

The camp that just waitlisted- the menaheles called last week to say how good my dd is.
They were very nice but told her that there were minimal slots left for her age group, after returning campers.

Thankful to be Chassidish when it comes to stuff like this.

Once a kid is in school they are there to stay from nursery until 12th grade.
Every school has a camp that accepts their own girls.

Applications are due by lag baomer.
I can't imagine having to worry about camp in November. That's crazy.

Not exactly on topic but how does that work when there are some camps that are only open first half at all? Wouldn't that make more competition for the fewer places for 2nd half?

Also this thread is worrying me because I didn't send in any applications yet, I didn't realize they're already up to waitlisting! Last DD a few years ago December was the time to apply Confused

Second half is much easier! I applied to a top camp in June for second half and got in no problem!
