I did prism glasses for 2 of my children for kriah . paid a ton out of pocket followed all the rules and gave it a lot of time and it did zilch. I used a very sought after doctor.
I believe its a scam. looking into kriah tutors now

I think this is worth it. He's more honest than the other doctors and won't waste your time if he thinks it won't help. And its around the same price when you add it all up.

Everyone I know who went to England is happy with the results.

Of course it's a scam. The definition of dyslexia relates to the phonological component of the language and not vision.
That being said, children should be able to see and hear well in order to learn to read.
But that typically does not fix dyslexia. You need someone certified in Wilson, etc

Around the same price ? We paid less than $1000 for the glasses and the exam… not sure how I can take my child to England for that price . Maybe it’s worth it if you feel that doctor is way better but it’s definitely not cheaper

There are people who swear they have seen huge results from prism glasses.

If someone can't see well, or use their eyes properly, they will have difficulty reading. There may be more than cause for reading issues, and this is definitely one of them.

If your child reads accurately but slowly this may be the real reason. Meaning they don't have a problem learning the alef bais and putting together the sounds, they simply have trouble with their eyes. My child with this kind of problem was reading English books by the dozen (English can be memorized), but struggled with Hebrew fluency (he had no problem learning the alef bais and sounds). It was a mystery to me at the time, I wish I knew then what I know now.

We had the same experience . Dd was years ahead in English reading and years behind in Hebrew. Years of Kriah tutoring did nothing. Prism glasses made a huge difference

What if the child reads fluently? But doesn’t chap the Gemara? Age 9. Could that also be an eyesight issue?

Sounds like a processing issue.

there is a man in lakewood who was trained in by Dr Alexander from London (who is specialist in prisms) how to tell if its a real issue. I heard people that had real success stories with Dr Alexander. And some people who ended up spending allot of money but there was no eye issue. So maybe go down to this man and he will tell you how to go about it.
