Do you wear your glasses on a necklace?

I'm looking for a solution to a problem I have been having for years. And years.

I have been wearing glasses since I'm a kid, but for the last 10 years or so, I need to take off my glasses to see upclose.

The result is that I lose my glasses on a regular basis. Like every day.

I have tried progressives but I still take off my glasses to read.
Lenses are not an option- my eyes are too dry.
I tried a Bluetooth attached to the frames but it kept dying.
I tried a necklace but I found it to be very annoying and uncomfortable.

I want to try the necklace idea again, as it seems to be the most practical. If you wear glasses as a necklace, do you not find that the string gets in the way of your vision? Also, it feels uncomfortable by my ears, as my snood sits there as well.

Any advice appreciated. Also, Amazon links of what you use and like.
Thank you!! (Also my kids will thank you because they are always the ones who have to help me search for my glasses...)

How about getting a cell phone crossbody bag that you use to store your glasses?

Bifocals are the same idea as progressives, no?
I tried that but I still keep taking off my glasses. I see better without any glass in between.

I only need glasses for up close so when I'm not using them I keep them on top of my head, not ideal but they're always there

That's something I never tried. It doesn't fall off?

I'm the opposite. I wear them all the time, but the past year or two I've found that I need to take them off for close work. When that happens, I just put them up on top of my head. I haven't lost them yet.

I suspect I might need bifocals, but they are so expensive I'm making these glasses last as long as I can.

Search for magnetic eyeglass holder on Amazon. No experience, but looks like a good option.

My dad will only shirts with a pocket for this reason.
As a btw, I don't find that wearing lenses helps me for this. When I wear lenses it's impossible for me to read very small writing and I have to take a picture with my phone and enlarge it in order to read things like ingredients etc

I keep an upright glasses holder in the kitchen and bedroom. You can get these on Amazon. Cool
I like them as you just pop them in, it's not like officially putting them away in a box.

I would if I could find one that actually held the glasses securely, even though the image screams "aging spinster librarian in a cardigan."

My very unique 18yo wears hers on a string/necklace/whatever it's called and she looks anything but that image. She also knits and crochets. She calls herself grandma chic.
