Can someone recommend a driving instructor in Jerusalem?
DD has a driving license from the US, but needs practice actual driving.
Also, how much it can cost?
Thank you!

Does she need lessons legally? Or you want her to have practice?

She has probationary license which she got right before moving to Israel. She needs to convert it to regular American license and then get the Israeli one. But before all that she needs practice
Thank you all!

She might not be able to convert it to Israeli then. She shouldn't start any paid lessons with anyone until she finds out what she will have to do to get an Israeli license. If she needs to do an Israeli license from scratch she can't just go to a driving test, she needs a tofes yarok, a written test, and then find a teacher.

Are you allowed to drive in Israel on a probationary license?
Has she made Aliya or planning to?
She won't be able to convert an international license unless she has held it for a specific amount of time and then she needs to do a test here.
I moved to Israel and did Aliyah a few months after passing my test in the UK and receiving my license, I was only allowed to drive using it in Israel for I think a year and then have to go through the process of getting a license like an Israeli who has never had one before including the 28 lessons etc

All olim need to have a valid foreign driver's license for 5 years in order to convert it.
Otherwise you have to start with the tofes yarok and all the lessons required of a brand new driver.

Join the Nefesh B'Nefesh-FIDF Lone Soldiers Program, Ministry of Transportation, and the IDF's Merkaz Bodedim for the Driver's License Conversion Day! Attendees will have the opportunity to convert a foreign driver's license to an Israeli one without doing a theory test. This event is for active service Lone Soldiers, post-army Lone Soldiers (release date after September 1, 2023), and Lone Bnot Sherut. Final approval for active service soldiers to leave base for this event must come from their direct commander and unit's welfare team (Mashakiot Tash).

I doubt they are changing the laws, just sounds like an event to make the conversion easier. A theory test is just a written test, and again she doesn't even have a liscense, she has a permit....

For your daughter's sake I hope I'm wrong.
When I made Aliyah we also had a convert your license as part of the Aliyah organisation but they said a I couldn't do mine, who ever did do it was so that they aren't on their own going to all the government offices and they had an agent or 2 from each office there doing it for them.
It was also with NBN.
She should reach out to them to ask, they are very helpful.
