Very simple for a 4 year old . Hashem puts the baby in mommy’s belly. It starts very tiny and grows into a full baby. That is the truth. There’s no way anyone is getting pregnant unless Hashem wills it to be so . Just ask people who are on their 12th round of ivf.

7 or 8 is old enough for an honest answer if they are asking that specific question
Where does a baby come from can mean generally, it doesn’t mean the kid is asking how babies come out.
I am BH pregnant and answered all questions from my 4 and 7 year old. My 10 yo interestingly did not ask any questions so my younger kids may know more about how a baby comes out than he does. It’s time for the talk with him soon anyway.

I told my 3 yr old DS that Hashem puts a tiny baby inside a mommy and it grows very until it’s time to come out and there’s a special hole mommy has for the baby to come out.
Didn’t tell him I’m bh pregnant now and we bought a new car seat because it was on sale. My sister asked him who it’s for and he responded “when we daven to Hashem he’s gonna put a baby inside mommy”

I tell my kids that the baby comes out of a special hole on the bottom of my stomach that opens up so the baby can come out and the hole closes up before I leave the hospital.
