Hi

We recently bought a new house in Toms River, NJ and we would like to re-paint it before moving in.

I would like to save myself the costs of using an interior designer as all it currently needs is fresh paint.

Can anyone please advise me as to which paint colors are nice to use?

I would like to have the entire house the same shade and like the lighter colors somewhere between white and cream...

I just want to know what to advise the painter...

Would appreciate any advise,

thanks,

Paint colours look different in every house, every room, and even on different walls in the same house! It’s impossible for someone to tell you what will look nice.

If you want to bring home some samples to test yourself Benjamin Moore white dove and chantilly lace are popular whites. Most of my house is painted classic gray which doesn’t look gray at all in my house, more beige. I’m sure someone can recommend more colours.

Thank you so much mizle10 - so how do I go about it, do I ask the painter to test the colors? The whites you are reffering to are they very white or more like cream?

I really want my house to look warm and feel that white can be cold or cheapy looking....

Please whoever can advise please do....

tysm!!

If you want white just do white dove in the whole house. Walls eggshell. Doors and trim satin.
You can also try vanilla milkshake with the same finishes. Easy to pick up small can of test paint and try both. Or your painter can do it.

Not at all. It's so creamy. Looks like a very very light greige.

I have classic Grey to its really nice and subtle.

Buy a few samples and test them on your walls before you commit to one.

White dove is warmer than vanilla milkshake.
If you mean lechtige as in bright then that is the opposite of warm...
Hard to know exactly what will work for the house and existing flooring. I would say try both or hire a designer just for a consult.

Go in to a paint shop and ask for sample cans, it’s usually about $10. Just paint some of ur wall and look at it in different times of the day.

Btw you can hire a designer by the hour. They can help you just pick your paint colors and that's it

I highly recommend just going in to GN Paints - it’s a frum store in Jackson that carries Benjamin Moore plus other brand. You can see all the swatches in person but more importantly, they give the best advice. They know what looks good in different spaces and also know what colors are trending.
I purchased from them pretty recently and the guys who work there are so talented and in the know .
My friend and Sil also purchased paint from there within the past year or so and also went by their advice and are SO happy.

Same & very happy. Imo white dove works well in all types of rooms & homes if you want a fresh warm white. You can't go wrong.
