And I am constantly having acne breakouts. Yes, at my age. I'm close to 40.
I don't think I've had a clear day since I was 12.

Teach me your secrets.

Drinking 10 cups of water
Moisturising daily
Eating clean and avoiding fried food
When I am good about this my skin is clear
When not…

Haven't yet found a moisturizer that doesn't make me break out even more.

You moisturize over broken out skin? That always feels so weird and makes everything look even redder.

Sometimes it's hormonal
I'm 30 and my skin hasn't been clear since 13 years old
Diet, facial masks and creams make no difference

My skin is clearest while pregnant

Yes, it's clearly hormonal.

My face was also clearer during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, but still very far from perfect.

I haven't found anything that makes a difference either. But I stopped trying products a long time ago.

But then I look around and everyone has decent looking skin. So does nobody else have hormonal issues?

Nuvaring. It’s like magic for me. As soon as I go off it to ttc, I break out and don’t stop breaking out until I’m postpartum and back on the ring.

Nuvaring also works really well for getting rid of my acne for me.
Also using products for sensitive skin with no fragrance can also help.

I actually had the opposite effect with Nuvaring.
Not acne as such but quite pimply.

Interesting. Thank you. I wonder it it's because it suppresses ovulation, or because it increases estrogen which potentially decreases testosterone? Or something else?

It's most likely the estrogen

I’m 35 with acne.

Here’s what helps: rx retinol. Cut out dairy, sugar, gluten.

More aggressive: spironilactone or yaz
