Attn writers, how much do you get paid?

If you don’t mind sharing, how much do you get paid for writing for magazines? I’ve been writing for 2 years now, mainly informational articles that require research. The research usually takes up to 4 hours per article. I get paid 3 cents per character. I’m working on a new series now that also includes some hands on projects, and my editor is asking how much I’d like to get paid (it’s not a very professional place lol). Curious what the normal rate is, and if it differs with hands on research vs. a fiction story.

I used to get paid 10 cents per word for fiction published by Frum magazines/newspapers, but maybe the rate has gone up since I was last published.

3 cents per character comes out to more than 10 cents per word, but because my articles are informational they’re a lot shorter than essays. Think short snippets combined with images etc. (I provide the images too)
