I'm looking for coats for my girls - dd6 and dd14.
Let's take trendy out of the picture for a minute and just talk about quality, comfort, and warmth.
I have lots of coats in various shopping carts on various websites - with a huge range of prices.
I have currenly open: macy's, gap, abercrombie, amazon, lands end:
the range of prices is from about $35-$150.
In my macy's cart I have from $63-$116.
In my gap cart I have $80's
In my abercrombie I have about $90-$130
in my lands end I have $90 - $150
The biggest tricky one is amazon - I have in my cart the amazon essentials from between carpools for $35 and the Orolay Down for $139.
They all seem to be good solid warm coats.
I'm just not sure what to do - should I show my girls the coats (to see if they like them) in order of price?
Or does price correlate to quality?
(Now that I wrote this out, I see that the amazon essentials coat (does anyone have that one and can tell me if it's good?) is really the outlier. Most of the others are at least $80.)
Thanks everyone for reading! Would love to hear thoughts.

Usually the more expensive ones have real down
Sometimes the zipper is better in some companies more than others
I have had success at lands end Amazon and Abercrombie
Less so with gap/old navy

If they are puffers, read the descriptions on what the coats are filled with. That will give you real info on how warm they are and help you narrow down your choices.

Thanks! That's good to know for sure!
When you say Amazon - do you mean the amazon essentials brand?

This is also really good to know.
I know down is warm but what fillings are good for my dd who is morally opposed to down?
Thanks!

A coat with a faux fur lining is more “cozy” I think many Abercrombie styles have it.

I bought a Calvin Klein Classic puffer filled with Sorona.
Any idea what that is?
She likes the coat (not easy with a teen) but I’m nervous it’s not warm enough.
