Is there someplace I can take my 11th grader tomorrow to buy make up where she can be guided on appropriate products that will look good on her and show her how to put it on properly. I'm not good with these things and don't wear a lot and I want her to have confidence if she wears once in awhile for Shabbos or a Simcha. I would prefer not a makeup counter in a mall like MAC because I don't want her to be taught to do a super heavy look. I want something more appropriate for our circles.

Cosmetic scenter?
Some makeup artists in lkwd also sell and they will give a teen time to try on some stuff if she’ll buy. Back in the day Faigy Weiss did this but idk if she does anymore

I would take her to Clinique or Bobbi Brown counter. Those lines tend to have a more natural look. Plus, they're owned by Estee Lauder who donates a lot of money to Israel.

I very very recently took my teen daughter here and I was very happy.
She does not encourage anything heavy at all. And she teaches the girls how to put it on.
Wasn't cheap though- because she does charge for the appointment.

There was a full page ad in the BP this week for a woman in Lkwd who’s been doing this for teens specifically for many years. Maybe it was Faigy Weiss mentioned above .

Rachel marizan and Rachel Leah tennebaum
I would recommend
They both aren’t cheap but really do a good job
I personally used Rachel Marizan and was happy that she taught the skills behind putting on the makeup

IMHO the makeup counters in the mall tend to go lighter and more natural then the frum mua. I would recommend bare minerals.

Faigy weiss has girls working for her that are excellent and like $25. They teach how to put it on and pick out the right colors for her. If you buy everything they recommend with the brushes it’s like $300 but you don’t need to buy all the products and brushes

Yes but light makeup. Like maybe a little tinted moisturizer, lip gloss, a bit of blush or bronzer. My 11th grader does not need much. It's just like introductory.

Can I just say, be careful which makeup counters you bring your daughter too.
It’s worth the extra $ to go to a frum woman.
