Hi I told my girls I would do clubs for them for 2 hours on Sundays. Looking for some good ideas to do with a range of girls from 5-9 years old. Crafts and baking etc. Not too expensive..

All ideas welcome! Thanks for your creativity!

Thanks. I need to outdo or keep up with the local clubs for my 9 year old - I am trying to save money and she really wanted to do like singing or something real. I told her I would do really fun things instead. So looking for some really nice ideas.

I would plan some more complex projects, and spend a month focusing on each one. That way they will have time to develop some skill, and have something more impressive to show for it at the end.

I would love to do canvas painting, resin, tie dye, but like I am so not creative and no clue how. scrabooking is a great idea.

I'll check out ali and temu for good ideas. Thanks!

You only need to learn the technique. Let them be creative.

You can look on line to get ideas if necessary.

You could make a movie! We chose an easy book and acted it out- we did is it Shabbos yet and just used iMovie on my phone. It was a lot of fun and my kids were that age!
We recently made mousse cups and that was fun too- I prepped everything in advance but they loved putting it together and inviting friends over after for a fancy treat

There are tutorials for canvas painting on YouTube. Very easy to follow.
There should also be Resin tutorials. Otherwise buy a kit from Michael's or Amazon. It should come with instructions.

Can someone explain the concept of these clubs to me since I live no where near NY?

It's like after school activities but on Sunday so instead of errands or family time, the kids go elsewhere?

OP, you sound amazing. I would never put so much time and effort into entertaining my kids on a Sunday.

Are you doing this all on your own? My neighborhood has a bunch of Sunday Funday groups for different ages. The boys all have school Sunday morning and the girls get bored because we don't do outings until the afternoon. Usually we take turns so each family hosts once or twice a semester and are off the rest of the time. The one we joined for our daughter was about 2 hours and involved some kind of activity/craft and some kind of hands on snack that doubled as a second activity.

Some of the crafts were the usual, like making or decorating jewelry boxes or initial decor for their rooms. One family bought long plain white nightgowns, gave the girls fabric markers and had them create their own "designs" and then do a fashion show. One family took the girls to a local kosher grocery store for a scavenger hunt and then put together packages they brought to a local nursing home.

We used to pick a Sunday near Chanukah so we could make latkes and do some kind of Chanukah based craft. One year we made Chanukah candles out of beeswax sheets. One year we made "oil" paintings with a cool technique - drawing a picture with pastels and then using a q-tip dipped in oil to blends the colors. One year when the girls were a bit older, we showed them how to make a simple circuit with a battery, a small LED bulb, and some metallic tape and then challenged them to make a Chanukah picture with a light up element.

Thank you everyone. For tomorrow I decided to just bake cinnamon buns and have them with hot cocoa. Not sure how long it will take and how it will go over.

So to the poster who asked how clubs work, yes, most of the kids her age go to clubs. I felt like I had no choice. She would try to play with friends and everyone was out by clubs. But I like spending time with them on Sundays and didn't really want to pay the money for "babysitting" so I decided to do it myself.

I have 4 girls and I'm doing it alone. Doing it with others puts a pressure on me, like this I'm chilled. No expectations. And a plus is that we get to spend some time together. I told them that for two hours we have clubs and the rest of the day they have to figure out how to entertain themselves. And that its a trial. It sure beats hearing ma, I'm bored, what cai do all day!

Such a nice idea! I'd love to do something like this. I was thinking to blow up my big exercise ball, I have a half exercise ball on the floor as well that is like a mini trampoline, I was thinking we could do gym/exercise time. Like some guided exercises and a 20-30 minute kids exercise video as well like Mendy music on toveedo or mostlymusic.com

Baking is always good
I bought big poster boards at the 99 cents store and some paint so we can make a family masterpiece.
I was thinking eventually we could do some DIY projects like we need to fill in and touch up some walls maybe my kids want to do that? Not sure lol.
Also have a bunch of girls k"h and all young so baking is exhausting..

Following for inspo! good luck!

For Resin jewelry you can buy a kit that comes with everything you need and instructions.

Canvas painting I really like stepbysteppainting website. We have done a lot from there.

Look at beadery website for ideas. You could do charm bracelets. Or beaded spoons.
