Is it possible to learn to give male haircuts at home? For both boys and dh. Might save money.

Yes, my mother did my brother's hair growing up and my husband even did his own when he was single. You can buy a shaver set with different heights and it pays for itself in just a few haircuts.

I cut my dh and son’s hair. For us it’s easy, hold onto the Peyos and just buzz it down on a triple 0 ….. iykyk

Yes, it's easy to do. I cuts my husband's hair and we both cut our sons' hair.

I cut my boys hair- DH not, but I did do it once in a pinch. It’s easier for an ‘over the top’ haircut, but I’ve gotten comfortable enough with the bangs as well. I just use the longest size blade, and works for me. Rest is a size 3/4 depending on the kid and hair type. I even do a nice square back!
Started doing it when my son once had a meltdown at the barber, and he needed haircut that day (school starting and Rosh Chodesh coming etc). Barber guided me; and I gave him the haircut in the barbers chair myself. And it came out great. Even the barber was surprised 😜
Purchased a machine on Amazon.

Yep, I gave my brothers haircuts before I was married, and give all my boys and husband haircuts. I also cut my daughters' hair. A basic hair cutting machine is the price of 1 haircut.

My boys get 2/3, they prefer 2, but they have thick hair that grows really fast. I use a 6 in the front.

Yup. I do it for my boys, 9 and 10 y/o, and for dh, who doesn't have much hair left anyway, so for him it's more like trimming the remains.
I cut my own hair as well. Only dd refuses haircuts by anyone.

Yes I cut dh and my boys hair.
If not we would be spending almost $100 every 4-6 weeks

Clippers are for haircuts. Trimmers are for the edges, neck and beard.
The measurements are in eighths of an inch.

Same!
get a good machine.
My husband usually does the boys, but if he isn’t available, I do it.
I have 5 boys, it takes about 7 minutes each plus 10 minutes total for cleanup- so 45 minutes and I save a lot of money.
I cut my husband’s hair too (when no one is around)
my boys don’t have styles though

I do that. Don't particularly like it but my husband's mother always did it, so he thought it was normal for moms to give haircuts.

I do my boys. I paid attention when I took them to the barber and used the instructions the clippers came with and it's fairly simple. We don't do styling - just one number all over (2 or 3).
I started because it was easier to give them haircuts than take them to the barber. Especially during busy season (right before sefira..). I asked them what they prefer and they prefer me, so we're continuing.
PSA - there are actual halachos regarding boys payos - what the area is, how short it can be cut - as well as the specific minhag of each community. So you need to find out these details.

I have 4 boys and a husband (and daughter). Oldest is 13. None have been to a barber or hairdresser. I cut my boys hair every month. It’s not rocket science
Back and sides 3
Top till about three inches to the front 4-6 depending on kids hair type (thinner and straighter can handle longer), front few inches scissor and comb. Line up the neck, bottom flat, sides 45 degree angle.
