The cheaper brands give me actual migraines |
What expensive brands have you found to be comfortable, and how much did the wigs cost?

I live in an area that no one cares what you cover your hair with so I wear hats and tichels most of the time. Sheitels are when I am in the mood. They are not comfortable.

I love it! You always look put together, no need to spend hours styling yoir own hair and can prepare it in advance for events!
Was happy when I got married to wear a sheitel and never looked back bh!

I love it! I can look beautiful in a second.
My hair was thick, frizzy ISH and just needed to be in a pony. Unless it was blown/straightened nicely which I usually had done for Shabbos. I couldn't do it myself, and it was a huge faff.
The only thing I don't like about it is the expense!
Most people's issues with them.

I have a love hate relationship. Its definitely annoying having it on your head. The second I get home I rip it off. But its nice in 2 sec always looking nice and ready to go. When I was single I had to put a lot of effort into my hair. I do miss it a bit I do have beautiful hair. Maybe once I go gray I will appreciate it even more.

I voted honestly. I don't love my sheitels.
But it's a mitzvah, a beautiful mitzvah of a married lady, to cover hair, and once I'm doing it, I do it besimcha.
My sheitels definitely look prettier than my tichels.

Love my sheitel. Love, love.
BT here.
Synthetic wigs, cheap, lightweight, look great.

I also love it. I never liked my hair and I love that I can look put together instantly. If I had to do my hair daily it would be so time-consuming and would never look that great.
I personally don’t find sheitels super uncomfortable, so wearing one is not so bad. I’m especially comfortable in a fall. I often change from sheitel to fall after work.

There's no sometimes option.
I like some aspects of wearing a sheitel, like having a styled look ready to wear without putting in extra effort every morning, or having my "hair" ready for a simcha days in advance instead of having to get it done that day when I'm overly busy as it is.
I don't actually love wearing a sheitel all day. When I come home, I immediately switch into slippers and a pretied bandana and I feel so much more comfortable. A sheitel is also so hot in the summer that I rarely wear one then unless I'm going somewhere more formal.

I wore a Fall for twenty years and loved it! I hated full shaitels until Lacetops came on the scene, now I would never wear a Fall, only a full Shaitel. I love them..takes a lot of work to get them the way I want but at the end of the day, I love wearing them,,I find them to be very comfortable and I wear Chinese wigs.

My hair is thick and curly so I would need extra maintenance to keep it looking good and be easy to deal with. I love that I can wash my hair whenever I want and not think about needing it done, and you can't beat the convenience of having a sheitel ready in advance. I don't find it too uncomfortable most of the time, though I do usually take them off when I get home if I don't forget. It is more maintenance than I thought it would be, and they don't always stay as perfect as I'd like, but it's still way better than my natural hair. |
My hair got really thin after my first two births, and it never recovered. I like that I can have a nice style with thicker hair than I ever had grow from my head.

I wish I could wear a beautiful, comfortable sheitl all the time. I wear a lot of bucket-style hats. I wish I could find an affordable, comfortable sheitl online. I'm a redhead -- dark auburn -- which is a colour that B"H can look good in a synthetic, I think. (Am I wrong?) But I haven’t had any luck finding a suitable one, yet, and can't afford to shop around very much. If you or anyone else here can suggest online sources of inexpensive, comfortable, synthetic, auburn sheitls, I'd be forever grateful. Tyia! 😊 I live in Toronto. Other than a gemach (which I'd be too ashamed to use), I wish I knew somewhere to be properly fitted for an affordable, attractive, auburn sheitl. [Anonymous because I'm a BT and it's really embarrassing to still be so bad at this stuff at my age.]
