Can anyone compare these two communities?
What is the general vibe of each?
Is there a large young JPF/RWMO community?
What are the amenities/schools like?
Are the communities warm/welcoming?
Community events, sense of achdus in the community?
Thank you!

Best way to get a feel, is to visit both and see for yourself.
Yes generally they both are good nice communities.
West Hempstead has more schools choices, shuls, kosher, events happening locally or nearby. Larger community
Edison has 2 schools, some send to to Netivot in East Brunswick, diverse OOT shuls, it’s a nice welcoming smaller community feel.
We looked compared them ended up moving to Bergenfield.

I can't speak about West Hempstead. Edison/HP is a great community. It is nice, friendly, very live and let live type of people but you're still very much in the tri state area. Most ppl here grew up in town and there's Def an element of gashmius but I don't find it overwhelming. There are 3 schools- sharei tzion which is sep boys and girls normal oot yeshivish school, my kids are there and we are super happy. There are Def some kids that go to jec and bruriah there but most go to the local BY and a good amount to the local yeshiva RJJ. RPRY and Netivot are 2 other options and honestly people switch between all three schools and people are very understanding. There are very well established shuls, some kosher restaurants and a small kosher grocery store. Also meat maven delivers here weekly, seasons from lakewood and random restaurants. I feel like it's a great balance but I'm on the more yeshivish side.

Thank you for your response. We are also considering Bergenfield. What made you choose it in the end?
