They usually want real food when they get home. It's something between a late lunch/early dinner. Substantial to tide them over until the seuda.
Any easy ideas?

I find the easiest thing is to make an extra big cholent.
I add the meat after lunch so they're only eating the beans, barley and potatoes.
I put it up very early Friday morning on high, but I know people who put it up Thursday night on low and this way it's very ready by lunch.

Usually give lunch around 1 when they come home.
Pasta, pizza bagels, Noodle soup, sandwiches, pizza bread in pizza maker, etc.
This way, I’m not fighting Hangry kids, and they are all calmer.

Regular lunch. Pizza, yogurt, sandwiches. Easy things that don't require much work. We try to avoid shabbos food before shabbos this time of year

My husband has always insisted on a fleishig lunch. So I’ll make an extra pan of chicken. They can take soup and whatever else I’m making if I made extra. My neighbor tells her kids to make frozen pizza or yogurt.

Same shabbos foods - they make their own plates, did that growing up too

I make schnitzel for Friday and whatever is left over is for shabbos day. One kid eats some kugel too. I also make pasta salad for shabbos and sometimes my kids will eat pasta too.

I don’t like the idea of Shabbat food being eaten on Friday. Am I the only one? Isn’t the whole point that it’s special for Shabbat

Thanks everyone! Cholent and chicken are great ideas!
Today I ended up doing noodles and sauce, and I think they are eating crackers instead (as long as they don't kvetch that they are hungry it's all good )
