Am I allowed to have a mani pedi at the same time even if I’m not going to mikvah? (Not allowed to cut both on same day)

I never heard that you're not allowed to cut both on the same day. So.. for me.. no issue.

I never asked.
I used to not be careful about it and one day it dawned on me that it's probably not the right thing to do. So now if I know I want to do both on same day I cut nails on 1 on my own the day before and then I have them just file those.
I assume it's not any different than doing it yourself. You're not supposed to so why should it be OK if someone is doing it for you?

Most of the time when I've been to a mani and pedi it's been one and then afterwards the other done by the same person.

So if I just have them file the nails on my hand it’s ok?
I meant on the same day

An inyan is not necessarily a halacha... T least not the way I understand.

And you just suggested above to cut your nails the day before and have them only file them. That seems like a decent compromise to me

What would be the issue?

I asked my husband this once due to this reason and he made a face like, don’t ask because if you never thought of it you aren’t doing anything wrong but once you’re asking…
I rarely have either anyway but I never have fingernails cut for this reason in case I do.

The inyan is the same as not cutting your nails in order - because that is how they prepare a meis for burial. So we are makpid not to cut finger and toe nails on the same day.

AYLOR but I don't see how filing would be an issue if you cut the nails the day before.

Well then wouldn’t it be the same issue for them to cut your nails in order, even if they were only doing your fingernails?

I've never heard of this. When I cut my own nails I definitely do both on the same day.

Yes, it would.

I have never been for a mani/pedi so no idea what they do in terms of order but look up in kitzur shulchan aruch. You are not supposed to cut your nails in order.
