I poured olive oil into a pan of onions and garlic which were cut with a dairy knife. There was definitely steam while pouring. Is the oil dairy?

AYLOR. Do you mean the oil in the pan to reuse, or the oil in the bottle?

I'm no Rabbi but I assume the oil did not become dairy.
The dairy in the knife transferring to the onions, is only for eating and the status of the pot afaik. It doesn't also make the steam dairy.
If there would be actual dairy in the pan than it's likely the oil became dairy.
But call your Rav to be sure.

BTW, its a good idea to get used to first pouring oil into a cup before pouring into a pan/pot. or have 2 separate bottles.

If you pour straight from the bottle into pots/pans on the fire, if there's steam it goes into the oil in the bottle and it can be considered dairy/meat if the food in the pan was dairy/meat.
To be clear, I don't have 2 bottles but I don't pour straight from the bottle into a steamy dairy or meat pot. I pour into a cup first.
