My precocious first grader can understand more english than most of her chassidish peers, and she’s also very aware and just gets things…
She came home telling me that she heard her teacher telling a friend that “she “ the teacher” has a huge behind, but in this outfit it looks smaller,” my daughter then commented to me that she is right, the teacher does have a big behind…..
Anyway I think the teacher isn’t realizing the pair of ears she has in her classroom. Would you send her a message or something?

I would think most first graders would understand that, even in a chassidish school. The teacher needs to realize that. Don't think I would say aomeghing though.

No I wouldn’t say anything she will end up hating your daughter. But even if she thinks kids can’t understand she needs to be more careful with what she says. Maybe you can tell your daughter to talk to the teacher in English so she realizes on her own.

Teacher sounds young and dumb. I don't think it's a matter of your daughter being fluently bilingual. I think teacher is discussing private adult matters in the earshot of students which is highly unprofessional.
I would let child know she doesn't belong listening to adult conversations. It may have been a one time slip. So let it go but if daughter brings up anything again that she overheard that she shouldn't then I would bring to teachers awareness in a gentle manner that she needs to be careful when having adult conversations around young ears

It’s not so much understanding it’s that her ears are always open even while the teacher isn’t expecting anyone to listen…
Ie she could’ve spelled it out, but my daughter would get it…
But I guess I’ll keep it to myself and enjoy the laugh…

Teachers need to realize that some students hear everything…
My son was in nursery (3.5) and the assistant got engaged. He came home telling me such detailed information. Nothing bad, but who she’s engaged to, where she was living, and even when the wedding was and ‘mommy, what’s a beshow? She said she had 2!’
I was wondering why on earth they told the kids so much, until I realized he just overheard the adults talking, and remembered, and then shared, everything.
