Correction: Yoseph stepped in front of Rachel, who was a. his mother and b. beautiful. No one stepped in front of Leah. Evidently no one was afraid that Esau would cast a lecherous eye on her. And Yaakov did not seem to see any reason to hide any of his wives or concubines.

We can brainwash ourselves all we want that not showing tznius pics of women has value. All it serves to push extremism into society, which adds to the Torah. |
I was never fed a platitude and never made to feel unimportant. A women's role is important even though it's not public.

Maybe you were never fed but you're posting some here for us women. (Or other posters did, I dont have patience to reread who said what.)
Can you provide examples in real life where we assure men that they are equal to us women?

The first one on כנגדו
The same as the word in masechet Peah, that Talmud Torah is כנגד all of them. Because he created woman at the level of man and not just as a birthing vessel. So it uses the word אשה (Isha here) as compared to male and female, (like in bereshit perek א). Because she was created from his side and then said that they will multiply.
Hashem created woman equal to man so that she can influence him, because he is not influenced by lower (lesser) creatures. So when He brought other animals to him he didn't find an equal helper among them. "It is not good for man to be alone" it may be good for a man with a wife, or it may not be, but without a wife the lack of goodness is for certain.
And the Gur Aryeh
Why is it written כנגדו, against him? This is the reason. This isn't like the help between a father and son, or between son and father , where they will never oppose each other. But rather the woman is an ezer k'negdo, because the woman is as important and is considered as the man she helps the man. He brings things (acts) and she corrects him, this is the meaning of ezer knegdo . If he doesn't act correctly she is completely against him. But a father is never against a son. This is how it should simply be interpreted. Otherwise Rashi would not have brought the midrash.
There is also something hidden here. Because the are knegdo, male and female, if it is successful, they are joined by one power, because all two opposites are united in one force when they succeed, that is, that Hashem, who makes peace between the opposites - binds and connects them.

Many women have written under a male pseudonym or initials to conceal that she is a women. Simply bc historically women weren't seen as serious writers.

Crazy how the frum world puts down women both for wanting to learn and be intellectual/spiritual but also for being into nice physical/materialistic things. You can't win.

I was never assured by a man that I'm equal to him. I never wondered if I was. It's so obvious that women and men have different but equally important roles that it doesn't need to be mentioned.

I'm Charedi, live in Israel (which I was shocked to hear some tri-state area folks once referred to as OOT, because to me E"Y is the center of the Jewish world) and I do subscribe to Mishpacha. I used to also sometimes write stories for them.
I do wish they had photos of women in the magazine. It saddened me to explain to my daughter at age 6 that Mishpacha Junior would print a photo of her brother, but not of her.
I saddens me that I read about women but have no idea what they look like, unlike with men.
I only learned what Rebbetzin Kanievtsky z"l looked like when I saw a video of her on YouTube, despite reading and hearing about her all the time.
I'm saddened that a small and extreme minority managed to subvert the entire Frum world with an extremist approach with absolutely no foundation in Halacha.
