Just heard that a pair of step siblings are engaged to each others. They even share a sister….

How??????
Why would anyone put themselves in such an awkward situation?

I know step siblings who are happily married for years already.
It definitely can work!

Me too!
They never lived in same house. Got engaged soon after their parents married and they didn’t live at home then.

I would definitely be grossed out if my brother married my stepsister, but we are very close knit and think of each other as siblings. So it would be gross and extremely weird

But I’ve heard of certain situations where it happened and didn’t seem that crazy at all

Also it is not a forbidden relationship

Not nice to react like that. It obviously worked out for them so you can say mazel Tov and then keep your thoughts to yourself. Hope this thread gets removed

There are so many romance novels with this plot, it's practically a genre.

It’s not that complicated not to get engaged to your step sibling.
They chose to do this and the consequences that come with it.

So if they (and their hadracha and parents) feel they're bashert zivugim they should just "not" so people don't gossip needlessly.

Yes. Just like we don’t marry our regular siblings even if we feel they’re bashert.

Some things are just not done.
