I love love love ariella schiller but in the past year it seems that she is always writing multiple articles and serials every week. wondering what happened to dov haller, ruti kepler, etc? no hate to ariella-her writing style is so fun-but I'd appreciate more variety too!

Dov Haller was a pen name for one of their writers that passed away. I think it was Reb Moshe Grylak?

Rabbi Grylak was Chaim Eliav (he wrote in Hebrew and his Torah articles were translated for the English Mishpacha, his books were translated but not in serialized form IIRC).
Dov Haller's alter ego is very much still alive and well. He is/was one of the editor in chiefs. I do still see him writing occasionally, but it seems that he has taken a back seat recently. I'm not writing who it was on purpose since I heard from someone in Mishpacha that it is not meant to be public knowledge and I don't want to post it on a public forum.
Ruti Kepler to the best of my knowledge is Israeli, and writes in Hebrew. I don't remember anything from her in the English Mishpacha ever. Some of her books that have been translated to English were serialized in the Hebrew magazine.
Gila Arnold just finished a serial. Haven't seen anything from Riva Pomerantz or Yael Mermelstein recently in the Mishpacha, I think one writes for the Ami and one has/had a serial recently in the Hamodia.
Mishpacha has just started a few new columns with new authors. Can't wait to see how they play out and I'm excited for a new generation of writers! Love Ariella though:)

Everything here is correct, except:
Ruti Kepler had several stories in the English Mishpacha. They were all fantastic, even though they were translated.
Her first one I think was the one with the Burka lady. I think it was called Normal like me.
Her second one was about a girl with a cochlear implant.

Riva Pomeranze switched to the Ami several years ago.
Yael mermelstien was in several places, I think, but most recently in the Binah/Hamodia.

All the above is true.
I don't recall Yael Mermelstein ever writing for Mishpacha, other than her kids' short stories in the JunIor.
There's a new serial by Esty Heller, who's always great.
Another serial by Miriam Zakon would be nice.

Yes, and Yisroel Besser is very much still a prolific author, though maybe not as frequent a contributor to mishpacha as he once was.

She's revelling in the freedom of not having to produce another episode every week!

I would love to see more of Rochel Samet. She used to write other stories aside from just Double Take. Also missed seeing her story in Calligraphy, she's usually featured there also.

Besser’s fiction is way better than his feature writing and opinions. Would love to see more dov haller serials.

I was about to say this! They interviewed her in the last few weeks in the main Mishpacha so I know she's still around.

In case Dov Haller sees this thread, I loved Rappaport 55. I gave it to my 12th grader to read and it made him excited to go to Bais Medrash.

Also loved that serial! I had boys learning in EY at the time, so I found really interesting, and very relatable.
