OP here. Thank you all so much. It's so helpful to have all these names as a starting point.
For clarification. We are thinking about switching him now (for winter zman, even if it's a bit late)
We haven't told his yeshiva or his Brothers (who are yeshivish and shtark learners, but don't have this bracha/challenge), so that's why I was asking a bunch of strangers, just for ideas.
My husband has been speaking to rebbeim about ideas, but I wanted to broaden the field.
We are familiar with a whole bunch of the lakewood Yeshivas. He's definitely yeshivish enough, but prefers less pressure to conform, which I know is a stereotype, but he feels strongly about it.

I don’t know much about this place but I’ve heard of Wasserman’s. Is that a good fit?

My brother is very similar to what you describe- very serious yeshivish, dedicated masmid, always learning bein hazmanim etc. He also was advanced for his age but didn’t want pressure to conform or learn typical yeshiva masechtas… has a goal of finishing shas bezh so wanted to learn his own thing. He is in R’ Garelick’s program in Monsey. AFAIK its doesn’t have a mesivta, but it sounds like a good match for your son so maybe look into it. They take all ages including a lot of older bachurim and cater to serious boys looking to learn at their own pace.

My son isn't at this level and he's not that old, but I know a bochur in Zimmerman and he's a good boy, regular yeshivish, but he's definitely not super brilliant and into his learning at OPs level, so don't expect everyone to be like that there.
I know a boy in Lieffs too, and he's very very yeshivish, and he's bright, but not an iluy, so they aren't all geniuses there either.
I don't know if slomowitz and s fsllsburg are so much the type either, as I know people in their thirties who went there who are uber yeshivish and motivated in learning but I know someone in his twenties who I think went to those yeshivos that is not...
I know I'm giving examples of one boy in each, but I'm trying to say that while there may be plenty of metzuyanim tthere, you definitely don't need to be a metzuyan to attend.

And believe it or not, Rabbi Pruazanskys too. I know a wonderful boy who learns there and he's smart but definitely not a super genius.
Like I said before, there's a range in even the best yeshivos.

There is a absolutely no yeshiva that has "only" metzuyanim. Were talking about where are there high concentrations so OPs son has a chevra on/near his level.
Some yeshivas have higher concentrations than others.
slomowitz and fallsburg have very substantial amounts.

Staten Island can also be a good option, though it's hard to tell without knowing OP's son's personality. Very high level, full of metzuyanim (of course not all boys are geniuses, like in every yeshiva) extremely motivated no-shtick type of boys and outstanding hanhalah of true gedolim. Out of town vibe with in-town learning.

But Peekskill is on a much lower level in learning and riverdale isn’t either a metzuyan level. |
We are hearing that - Riverdale was and still is Metzuyon level and Peekskill has advanced to Metzuyon level over the last few years.
Would love to hear more about this as it's pertinent for us to know.

Similar situation here - we bh had Hatzlacha in Chaim Berlin- he was able to get chavrusas with very learned long-term Kollel members

I think this can be true for most OOT mesivta (besides the ones that openly cater to weaker boys) because there are very limited options OOT and each mesivta only accepts a handful of new boys each year. By default, they can be pickier and end up with more metzuyanim. I heard that a few hundred boys applied to Peekskill last year. 9th grade shiur is usually 25-30 boys. Do the math.

I have an 8th grader who has already learned 1/5th of shas and could be in the position in a few years. Also a little out of the box like he uses his screen time to watch videos about the roman empire. I am not really interested in sending him away for his earliest years. Everyone I talk to tells me that Telshe (Chicago) will really challenge him. May be worth looking into.

I know the boys that apply to Peekskill. A metzuyan boy won’t even apply there. Maybe they went from bais minus to a bais plus Talmud but no aleph plus boy will even apply there, it’s not the type.
Op is trying to get accurate research it doesn’t help for someone to Have their own agenda to try to promote a certain mesivta, whether your father owns it or your husband works there. it’s not fair to someone to give dishonest information.
Op ask your sons rabbeim not anonymous people that might have a connection to a certain place.

I mentioned it above, but I'll repeat that you should really look into Yeshivas Eitz Chaim in Chicago. Very high level, only very serious masmidim, yeshivsh but not greasy. The bochurim love it.

Wow! As nasty as they get.
I have absolutely no connection to Riverdale or Peekskill whatsoever.
Just relaying the seemingly accurate information we are getting from the 8th grade Rabbeim and parents.

This may be too out of your box, but you might want to look at MTA. The upper level high school shiur is good for regular super-smart boys, especially the 12th grade beis medrash katan program with R. Tani cohen (and many are yeshivish, from monsey/brooklyn/passaic). The super metzuyanim can go to YU beis medrash shiurim (one of my sons had a friend who did this). And if they want to they can take YU classes in the afternoon as well, so things like safrus, Halacha classes, etc at a college level instead of regular high school classes .
