I have a babysitter who watches my 9 month old for a few hours a day every day. she knows we are very anti-screen and do not show my older kids any shows or have screens at all with them. today, I came home and she was doing laundry and I found my baby WATCHING XMAS CARTOONS ON HER PHONE!!! she was in a dark room with the phone set up for her to watch it. I asked my sitter and she acted like she didnt think she was doing anything wrong but I could see on her face that she knew she had been "caught"
what do I do???? should I talk to her again in a more stern way? have DH talk to her? threaten to put cameras?? ugh I feel like such a bad mommy!!!!!
You’re not a bad mother. Mothers who let their kids watch aren’t either. Your babysitter on the other hand…
I would definitely put cameras in. It’s the benefit of having this setup - you can set nanny cams up and check in on your kid throughout the day remotely.
We’ve had her for years and she usually so great. Like she is so loving to them and even has my kids as her background on her phone. I just don’t know what to do. Finding another babysitter is not really an option right now… how do I suddenly introduce cameras into the house after years of having her without it being offensive or awkward between us she’s already very sensitive
Nope I wouldn’t be able to trust her again sorry but how can I know she’s not giving my child non kosher food or doing something else I told her not to do.
Cameras for sure you should have up already. Your kids safety comes before her sensitivities if she gets insulted too bad it’s pretty standard to have cameras.

She just got caught this time..also idk how old your baby is but who leaves a kid in a dark room with a phone??? If my kids watch I'm sitting in the same room as them or the next room over and constantly checking in.

Her having your kids as her phone's wallpaper doesn't make her anymore trustworthy. You knew that, right?

You've had her for years and she was always loving around you how do you know what's going on when your not there
I live next door to a popular park. You have no idea what the sitters and the “nurses” that care for twins do there with the kids. It pains me immensely to see.
I am a mom that let's my kids watch but 9 months is way way way too young. My ped says no screens before age 2 and after that up to 2 hours a day is the max recommended.

Who comes first? A sensitive employee or your precious child? Do what you need to do to protect your kids. All rabbanim say never to leave a nome jew in your kitchen alone without cameras btw

Please elaborate. I can't afford a baby nurse although everyone around me seems to have one so would love to hear the horror stories
