Surprised you came this far with no cameras...
If you do choose to keep her, definitely put up cameras anyway. They don't need be specifically for her, for general security also.
You also may want to ask your Rav a shaila about the kashrus of your kitchen that was left with a non-Jew without supervision.
I asked and was told I am not allowed to have one clean when I'm not there, I'm not sure about after the fact...

I found out my baby was placed in front of a TV for who knows how many hours a day. I pulled out pretty quickly after that (licensed daycare)

Are we neighbors? Those poor babies sit and klotz whilst the nurses chat in the frosty weather

OP, your kids shouldn't be the background on her screen. I honestly would not allow a non-Jewish babysitter to take pictures of my children. It isn't safe.

I am a sahm when my kids are babies. I used to be one of the only moms at library with all the nannies. Let's just say...I wasn't impressed.

I had a lovely baby nurse but she didn't take my baby to the park. She was there for postpartum so I could get sleep at night.

Yep. The toddler is buckled in the stroller while the nanny sits on her phone. Occasionally she looked up and offered another bite. Then yelled NO when kid refused it. Poor little kid just wanted to be unbuckled and run around.

OP, besides for the point that your sitter has your kids picture as her phone wall paper, having a non jew in your house unsupervised of without camera's, may automatically render your kitchen treif.
Please discuss this issue with a Rav.

Few points I want to address I have had many babysitters in my home and I have cameras. Ive had frum women (who I paid a fortune) I had to fire for awful things. So dont tell me never have a non-jew. Bh I have an amazing hispanic lady who loves my child and takes great care of her she was not easy to find and I never fully trust and therefore keep close eye on cameras and randomly pop in.
Cameras are a must I cant say it enough. Just explain that we are having some workers in the house now so we are installing cameras if she leaves so be it it’s probably a sign she’s hiding more than you think. I also always tell my lady baby is priority if you cant get to cleaning thats fine as shes taken care of. I wouldnt fire for something like that if you never explicitly told her not to show her devices. I would give it another chance but absolutely get cameras.

Thank you everyone!! I’m going to look into cameras. Regarding kashrus, she doesn’t touch anything in the kitchen. Can anyone recommend cameras to get??
Also just want to clarify I wasn’t saying that I feel like a bad mother that my child saw a screen… I don’t think you’re a bad parent if you show your kids screens. Just feel like a bad mother that I left my child with someone like this 😞

The babies are facing the [gentile woman] so they can’t even watch other kids play. They’re on their phones a whole time. Then they take the kid out for a second, snap a picture, and put them back in their double stroller. I see it ALL THE TIME!

My cleaning lady doesn’t either touch the kitchen besides for washing it. Once I left for 2 minutes to get something from the next block. I came home to finding her cooking some eggs. Had I not gotten home on time… who knows! I had to kasher the pot and all.
I suggest calling a low voltage guy. They are very popular these days.

A baby nurse is a woman from a different country that is here on a 6 month visa. Please don’t be jealous. I would never trust my kid alone with one of them.

This would be a dealbreaker for me. Leaving a 9 month old alone with a show is very strange to me

There are many stories about Jewish babysitters on this site too. It’s about the person not whether they are Jewish or not

Red flag that her phone wallpaper is photos of your kids. Too close for comfort.

How would you know she doesn't touch anything in your kitchen if there aren't any cameras? I wouldn't take her word for it. Respect and suspect.

No offence, and I'm sure your kids are adorable, but this is super duper creepy.

Tbh I would be weary if a random babysitter had my babies picture as her background.
