My son is currently in an OOT Mesivta and comes home once a month by plane. I just found out that if you buy tickets for Spirit in the airport it's cheaper than online.
Are there any other ways of getting good deals on flights?

Frontier has a 'fly all you want' . Not sure how it works, but you can check it out.
