I was going to say this too. Because on the employees side- at least I know for myself- why would I commit to something for so few hours that ties me up but is so not lucrative.
I was a virtual assistant at one point for a few different companies. The place that gave me unlimited hours (which for me was prob about 15 hours per week) paid me considerably less than the person who only needed 10 hours a month. I didn’t want to commit those hours without knowing it was worth my while to block out that time.
It may not make sense for an employer and they can decide for themselves… but also if they only need a few hours they may have a hard time finding someone who’s willing to work for so little but need to be committed
Just my two cents
Op I think 45-50 is reasonable. In lkwd secretaries can get $40 I’ve heard

Do you pay your cleaning women for the whole day if she only has time to give you 2 hours of work every week? |
Maybe it doesn't make sense to you, but it makes perfect sense to me. They pay more per hour because they don't have enough work to fill your day. The analogy with the cleaning lady actually proves the point but in the reverse. It's not that she doesn't have enough hours for you so you pay more. Rather, if you want someone to come clean for only 2 hours they might charge you more per hour so it pays for them to do it.

I would ask for more than 50, but that's just me in my financial state, im not desperate. if you're desperate for the income, be more careful
