I love food so I would say find out what she likes and get her a little platter from bakery, arrangement of sweets/chocs,
Brunch, meat board for shabbos, etc etc

I think you mean a gift to say "thinking of you" rather then a gift for friend going through divorce.

S1, I love your list!!

Aww thanks, I was very very lucky and felt very cared for.
I said it was like I'd just given birth- people bringing presents, chocolate in my bedside table, not sleeping and crying at random times 🙃

Just to add also got a mug with a cute quote about friends, and letters/cards. And a cleaner (best present!!). My family took hints and bought me stuff as soon as I mentioned anything was broken or I needed anything in the house. People put money on my grocery store account (that was also really really nice)

1. Drop by with dinner/lunch
2. Listening ear
3. Offer to watch her kids so she can have some down time.

Not really. Bc a person is still a person if they are single, married, it going through a divorce.

I think what always gets me so upset is that the only descriptor in this thread was "divorced" nothing else about the friend.

I do agree that not all gifts are appropriate at all times. But at least consider who the person is when also thinking about the occasion.
