How about not buying something until you have the money for it?
Make your own payment plan. Put aside money in an envelope and when there is enough money then you buy want you want

My last 2 sheitals I paid it out over 3 appointments. Nobody expects you to pay 2,500 at once. The first appointment when I picked it out I paid 1,000 then next appointment a few weeks later when it got baby hairs and highlights I paid 500 then it got washed and at next appointment when it got cut and set I paid 500
