Ds knows when his diaper is dirty but does not recognize before he has to go. Is it worth it to try toilet training now or should I just wait until he is more ready? I just feel pressure because he's almost turning 3 and I want him to be able to wear tzitzis

In my experience it’s worth it to wait if possible, goes quicker when they’re ready.
My boys so far got trained when they were 3, I just helped them with holding their tzitzis out of the way in the beginning and then taught them to hold them out of the way themselves.

I thought they're not allowed to wear tzitzis if not toiler trained?

If he is nearly 3 and you feel is ready you can try. None of my kids knew before training and they all trained between 2.5-2.7 within 3 days, day and night. By 2nd day no accidents just remembering to go before starting...
The best is keeping them home for 3 days wearing nothing for the first day or few hrs depending on child, and day 2 with just underpants, day 3 if sending out the next day put on pants so they get used to it and managing to pull down.
Give them loads to drink and some more, make it fun with straws and diluted juice. At the beginning they should be going every 5-10 mins, it can take time for them to learn to make that first time. Only once toilet trained they learn not to just make mindlessly every 5 mins, with a diaper they don't have that issue but if should come naturally.
