I bought pkg of persian cucumbers today and almost fainted when I saw price on my receipt-$23.26:%

is this a mistake from the grocery-cuz im baffled that 4 small cucumbers were $23.26. for reference the cucumbers weighed 5.83 and 3.99 per lb

They’re expensive in Jewish stores

We buy them in Aldi they’re much cheaper.

3.99/lb for 5.83 lbs would be $23. but it doesn't sound like it was 5 lbs. I would check with store. usually those small packages are 1 lb

I’m confused the packages are usually a set price not by pound.
If u picked and put in a bag then makes sense it was weighed but 4 cucumbers isn’t 5.83 pounds. Probably a pound or less if they are small.

Usually cucumbers in the pack are sold by the pack. I just bought a pack from my Jewish store for $2.99 on sale. I would assume it’s a mistake

There’s no way 4 small cucumbers weigh almost 6 lbs.

The amount of times I’ve found big mistakes on receipts I can almost become rich😝

There was an article recently about a guy who swiped about $4000 at a self checkout. The manager checked the transaction as it’s so unusual for such a large order to be self checkout. Turns out the person bought let’s say 4 avocados, but accidentally entered the wrong amount of avocados.
He didn’t even notice how much he was charged!!!

Anyway, the article was an awareness on checking prices, especially when you have 2 “brands” with big difference in price, when they’re technically the same brand but labeled differently. People reported savings of $30-40 per order and $150 or more a month since they started paying attention.

I buy my Persian cucs in Walmart- more in a pkg for $2-3 vs the kosher stores which have them for like $4.99 for 5 cucs on special
