I'm glad to be validated that I'm not the only one who hasn't an idea of what to do with them.
The instructions from the poster above are great but past my level of comprehension.
Can someone type out a for dummies version for slow readers who can't say everything? Please, thank you

So many different minhagim!
My Rav (litvish) says women should do it too. But aravos can be shared, so I just use my husband’s when he comes home.
Rav said women should say any one paragraph from the many pages, and then bang 5 times. No need to bang off the leaves.

1-Open the machzor to
סדר הושענות להושענה רבה
Say הושענה and למען אמיתך
2-Skip towards end to שערי שמים פתח
3-Go to end say כל מבשר 3 times while hitting the leaves on the floor
4- say the yehi ratzon

They do both mean hit. It was just an interesting way to say it. Klapp is more like hammering in a nail or banging on the table to make noise. Schlug is when you hit someone in a physical attack so it sounded funny to say shlugg aravos like you’d be mad at them.

Hit the bundle of aravos while you say:
Kol Mevaser, Mevaser Ve'Omer.
Kol Mevaser, Mevaser Ve'Omer.
Kol Mevaser, Mevaser Ve'Omer.
Then say:
Hoshia Es Amecha U'varech Es Nachlasecha, Ur'em V'nas'em Ad Haolam.
Vayihiyu Divrei Eileh Asher His'chananti Lifnei Hashem, Krohvim El Hashem Elokeinu Yomam V'layla, La'asos Mishpat Avdoh U'mishpat Amoh Yisroel, D'var Yom Beyond.
L'maan Da'as Kol Amei Ha'aretz, Ki Hashem Hu H'elokim, Ein Od.
Good Y"T!

He also said our 1 yr old should also do it (she's very good at dropping things )

Too embarrassed to ask at this point, too deep in lol. Was figuring I’ll wait till my son grows up and ask him jk.
But really, please advise? I’ve never been to shul on h”r. |
Do women go to shul on Hoshana Rabba?

It is yet another Tishrei expense…
and unlike kapparos which can be shared, it’s one hoshaanos bundle per person. They can’t be shared or re-used. |
Is it really expensive? Here they just cost a few shekels. Which is money, but I've never seen it as a significant expense.
Quote: | Do women go to shul on Hoshana Rabba? |
Like everything, it depends on both the shul and the woman. In my experience, the ezrat nashim is open on Hoshana Rabbah, and a fair proportion of women and girls go to shul.

I grew up doing it at home. My parents bought each family member a bundle.
I've gone to the Kotel for Hoshana Rabbah a few times with my own hoshanot but usually it's just at home. Takes 1 min.

As a girl I did and my father told me to say Kol mevaser 3x and hit 5x.
Now that I'm married my husband tells me to hit 5x and say the yehi ratzon after.
Grew up yeshivish, married chassidish.
Never heard that you need 2 if preg... oh well. Sorry baby. you'll just have to do it next year iyh lol! It'll be a great photo op
