Excellent recipe. I used whole spelt flour and it was super. One point though- I left it in for longer than I should have- because the top looked moist and it was already totally baked. I'll take it out sooner next time.

Thanks for posting.

Did you need to use less liquid when making with spelt flour?

I hear that honey cake comes out much better in flat pans, with low batter.
Now I know for next time.
The loaves came out wonderfully delishes. But I will use 8x8 cake pans next time IY"H.
Thanks again for the recipe pink! It's a keeper!

Does 1 batter fit in one or two 8x8 pans? And how long is the baking time? Same as the loaf pans?

okay, so I just wanted to write that I tried this recipe for the first time ever before rosh hashana. Not only was it way easier and faster to make than any other recipe I ever used, but it really WAS incredibly moist! Everyone loved it!

And its back! This is the TENTH year that I am using this recipe, its everybody's favorite!
Bumping it up, for anyone else who might like to try it Smile

I made it with white spelt and it was a bit dry. Still delicious though!

Liebers has been running an ad in all the magazines for a honey carrot cake. It's pretty good. And made entirely in the food processor. Start checking ten minutes early.

I'm sorry if this was asked already, no time to read through this long thread. Is this done by hand or by mixer?

Never made this one but I can vouch for AZmom's recipe.
It's the reason I don't feel the need to ever try another honey cake recipe Wink

I made both and liked this one much better, but I forgot to put cinnamon in the other one so that may have been a factor.
