Be kind to yourself ladies
Wishing us all a truly joyous sukkos!

Serious question does all this food get eaten? We are a family of ten but I barely cook more than soup and a little meat. After the fish and challah everyone is too full even dessert doesn't get touched. Cakes can get eaten in the morning. And side dishes need to be very simple like mashed potatoes.

My main dish is usually meat, mashed potatoes and salad. Fancy side dishes aren't a thing here.

SingALong wrote: | For the poster who requested veggie soup recipe
I just dice onion, squash, carrot, celery, maybe celery root, parsnip, sauce it all for a long time on a very low flame. Add cubes of dill and parsley, add, water and let simmer for an hour.
Sometimes I’ll add some chicken cutlets and shred them back into the soup after it’s all cooked.
For the poster who asked how we have room for all this, I have 3 freezers. I really dislike cooking on yt and chol hamoed when everyone is home and we’re going on trips. so I try to make as much as possible beforehand. I just take pans out of the freezer each meal and warm up. |
Thanks for posting

This is the first year I have anything in my freezer! I just had a baby and Hashem was really nice and let me cook for Rosh Hashana before giving birth.
I still have some breaded chicken nuggets, matzah balls, meatballs, challah, a sweet potato pie, a pan of chicken, and two cakes left.

Lol those of use without cooked items in the freezer are not hurt!
I happen to be an amazing last minute chef- I do it all Erev and fancy things.
(I take that day off of work and full time before so it's the best time for me)

I love how you start and end your post! Yes thank you Hashem for giving me the strength and money to go shopping, the energy and time to do the cooking, and the freezer space to store the foods.
So much to be grateful for BH

I have nothing🥲 oh well! Gonna cook today! So amazing how everyone has so much stuff!! It’s my first time making Sukkos so wish me luck!!!
Here’s what I was thinking of making:
Pulled beef with nachos as an app
Lo mein
Morrocon salmon
Deli rolll
Salads
Kugel
Spinach meat mushroom boraques
Pistachio salmon
Germolata steak and potatoes
More salads and dips
I buy all my veggies in bulk from the farmers market. Same with my fish and meat. All my other random stuff I buy from bulk in Costco. I love to cook but do my best with my budget;)

Half my family doesn’t eat fish. With picky eaters I focus on having at least one protein choice for every member of the family. So I make tons of soup and tongue because some kids will only eat that.
