I get the feeling that people mostly stay put. Is it acceptable to go to the park? Will people look at me weird for using the eiruv?

Ppl stay put because they have no energy to move. If going to the park will help with occupying kids, why shouldn’t you go?

Do I have the energy to take my kids to the park? Sometimes, but mostly no.

As long as it’s not hot and there’s an Eruv, why not?
Personally I don’t like to because then I have to chase my toddler around, but do what works for you.

It wasn’t me, but it was probably someone just feeling bad that you don’t have enough energy on YK-a genuine hug for your pain.

I took my kids to the park every yom kippur when they were little. I'd go in the morning when I still had energy. When we got home they had run around and exerted themselves already, so they were calm and played nicely the rest of the day. That's when I was worn out and tired and had no energy. It worked beautifully.

It's become a thing to find the fast very hard, and stay in the house all day I case going out makes the fast harder.

When I was growing up, a walk in the park during the break after mussaf was a regular part of the day. No one seemed to suffer unduly from it, and we felt refreshed from the fresh air when we went ba k to shul.

If you fast well, and it will help occupy your children, there's absolutely no reason why not. If it's socially not done, decide whether that is important enough to stop you.

When I was in Lakewood developments I always took the kids to the park on yk. Probably multiple times in the day lol. Now the park is too far for me to walk on yk but otherwise I would.

I am a terrible faster and find it easier to take them to the park and let the swings entertain them then to stay home and I have to all day. That's me and may not be you, but I find it very helpful. We don't have an eruv so I can't bring my machzor but frankly I find the break and the fresh air head clearing for me too.

Totally acceptable.
But make sure the weather is suitable for your fasting needs and not detrimental.
I spent hours at the park both days of RH, one day was nicer than the other in terms of sun and heat and I was able to keep myself hydrated in either case. Also different parks vary in terms of shade offering.

Whats the question. You do need an eruv. It is all halachos of shabbos. Kids need to get out some energy if I have the strength running the park better than jumping off my head from the couch

As long as the eruv is fine and you feel okay, go for it! I spent hours in the park on YK until I moved to a house with a private yard and swing set.

When I was in EY, the streets YK at night after shul were full of ppl strolling with and without kids. It was too early to go to sleep, it was nice and cool, there was no traffic except the occasional ambulance, it was totally serene. YK day I was in shul so IDK but I imagine moms and their kids were all taking the air as well.
