My guess is that because of his business model (selling a bit everywhere so you don’t hit the point that everyone who needs has) he’s able to buy and sell in high quantities which lowers the price. If you’re really not competition you can probably call him and ask

He's still around and traveling? He's either Superman or younger than he looks. He was at least in his 50s when he was selling in my kids' school 25+ years ago. Hashem should give him strength!

He’s in his 60’s. He’s a tzaddik. He’s exceptionally nice to kids Edited inaccurate info
You would think he would be grumpy and impatient but he’s not at all.
He was in Yeshiva many years ago with a close relative which is how I know.
I really don’t think op, should ask him who his distributor is.
Anyone with a dry goods type of store probably has the same distributor.

I think he gets close outs discontinued things. Also he doesn’t do a high markup.

He comes to Baltimore very often. I think the non-brand names he has manufactured specially. The brand names are closeouts I think. He saves us a ton of money, BH.

He called me a few months ago and said "I know this is crazy and I'm not trying to market or anything BUT your teenage daughter was just here (she was) and I was so impressed with her middos. I asked her for your number so I could give you a nachas call."
