Are you OK with mess?
We did science b-day parties but a bit older --more like 7. We made slime or oobleck (cornstarch and water). The kids loved it.
But for a little boy you can do construction theme and find games related. Like pin the digger on the truck or pin the dirt pile (brown paper) on the digger. And instead of the wonder ball (or even pass the present) it can be the wonder brick.

Slime is actually a great idea! How do you do it? Are there people who do it for you?

We had the kids make it. It takes patience and they may need a little help. It's really not hard
There are so many recipes out there. I don't remember the exact one we used. It had glue, borax, water and we added food coloring for color.
