Yuck to pouring down the toilet. Doesn't it make your toilet bowl disgusting and need to be cleaned? Or do you throw some dish soap in there with the oil to cut the grease?

Lift seat before. You flush immediately and it's all gone.

I stand corrected. Someone who deals with plumbing etc had told me to do that, but google strongly disagrees. Then I'd pour it into those disposable containers (like you get soup in a takeout) and put into trash. For a pan that just has a little, I put in some paper towels to absorb it and put in a shopping bag in the trash.

That's very bad for your pipes.

You can strain it and reuse it. Would like to know how to make lip balm, shampoo and other things from leftover oil.

If it's alot and the garbage is full it goes in the garbage and taken straight out otherwise a container or snack bag in the freezer.
I usually sit the pan upside down for a couple of mins over the garbage can to get it all out and then wipe with kitchen towel.
If it's a small amount it goes straight in the garbage.
Double win is when the egg carton goes in the garbage right before and absorbs all the oil.

I hardly fry, when I do I'm stingy with the oil so very rare to have a large amount left.

I don't know anyone who thinks that restaurant fried food is healthy. I'm actually quite disgusted by fried takeout.

That is what people have historically done, especially when frying was more common. They would keep jars for strained oil to reuse. Lots of people still do this. Why is it unhealthy, any more than frying in general?

I double bag it in shopping bags. Sometimes if I'm feeling lazy I pour it in the grass in my yard. I hope it's not terrible to do that.

Because every time you re-heat oil, it degenerates more and produces substances that can harm your liver and brain and cause cancer.

Regarding pouring down the drain - it's not just bad for your own pipes, it's also a problem for sewage plants and the environment.

Refrying oil makes the oil become carcinogenic .

I saw this somewhere and thought it was so cool but my husband questioned if it may have something unkosher in it... have you looked into this? if yes, I would love to hear what it is made of and ask my rav of course

This particular one is made of castor oil derivatives. It’s like any plant based cleaner as per my research

I think fryaway is kosher certified but much more expensive

Unless you keep your garbage in the freezer, it won't stay solid for long.

Literally have called a plumber twice for kitchen pots being emptied in our toilet. So not a good solution!
