Too early to fry my schnitzel for Thursday night?
Or make a few loaves of Gefilte fish?
Green beans?
Steamed broccoli?
Grilled chicken for Friday night?
Egg salad for shalosh seudos?
Pasta salad for shalosh seudos?
Hearts of palm salad?
Cucumber salad for Thursday and Friday?
Oyster steak for tomorrow night?
Rice for Friday?
Hot poppers for Friday night?
Ok.. I know it’s too early for fresh salad …

Why do I still have so much to do?????????
Have 2 roasts I’m about to cook
And I’ll make another potato kugel because I don’t think I have enough in the freezer
And I’m going to make techina for a dip since it doesn’t have vinegar
Maybe another apple kugel- maybe not because I have one in the freezer….

Yes, I’m cooking for a lot of people

Fish I think is ok
You can peel cucumbers for the cucumber salad
Definitely can boil eggs today, not sure about mixing with mayo
Hot poppers can be breaded and sauce prepared and then just assembled closet
Hearts of palm salad today

Schnitzel is not being fresh regardless, make it now. Ditto for rice and poppers.
Gefilte fish def can be made now
Grilled chicken can be marinated.
Oyster steak can be marinated.
Cucumber salad can be made now.

That lasts over a week in the fridge. Actually gets better the longer it sits. I made mine yesterday.

Yes, I’m cooking for a lot of people

For sure cook today:
Gefilte fish
Green beans
Grilled chicken
Pasta salad
Hard boil the eggs (but don't mash until shabbos)
Cucumber salad
Roasts
Dips

If you wait to make shnitzel, hot poppers and rice until tomorrow, they still won't be made day off/fresh/, so I see no point in waiting. Just make those last, today. Hot poppers- don't add sauce until the day you're serving them.

If you can, peel the potatoes today, keep in cold water, and make the kugel fresh to enjoy straight from the oven.

Steamed broccoli make tomorrow.

Hearts of palm salad make on Y"T.

I really appreciate everyones input.

So far.. I have 4 loaves of Gefilte fish cooking, 2 large roasts in the oven, rice in the oven

Next- beans, eggs, kugel, cucumber salad, grilled chicken…
(I already have 4 8x8 kugels in freezer, just thought I could use more)

Just unloaded a $500 grocery order! That took time!

It’s crazy.. I already have a full freezer of food I prepared in advance. I thought I was ahead of the game. So many last minute things…

Me and everyone else… but for some reason I always feel like I’m trying to catch my breath while everyone else seems to have things under control.
Probably because I host many people (not for social reasons)

I always cut them super thinly with a mandolin so they're not really very crunchy anyway. I don't find them to get soggy, and the flavor is better when it's been marinating a while.
