Nasty and demeaning manager who undermines and gaslights - she says to do something a certain way and then calls team members out for having done it the way she wanted. She won’t put things in writing. Very negative attitude.

I’ve had this issue once, my solution was to always put everything in writing before doing anything so there was a reference just in case

Like if she calls me or tells me to do something in a meeting, I spend a couple min after summarizing what she wants and how she wants it and emailing her for confirmation

I keep reminding myself that I am not STUCK there, and it's just a small part of my life and it doesn't define me.

The bigger issue is not letting work things sour my mood with my family and after work hours (very difficult since I work from home, and find that I'm ALWAYS working to catch up, make up my hours, etc.)

The issue us that the abuse is insidious
it does chip away at a person
at anyone
no matter how well they can and do handle it
the affects of abuse do affect the targeted victim negatively
its just a fact

getting it in writing is smart
leaving if possible is a healthy response
depends upon individual factors

How long has she been a manager at the business? If she’s a fixture at the company, QUIT. But I’ve also witnessed several cases where a new manager was hired, didn’t understand that work culture and wreaked havoc turning the whole place toxic. But after about a year the boss noticed what’s happening and they were gone.
