Dd asked me at the shabbos table today, if a neshomo can hurt, can she be happy/ proud of me too?
I didn't know what to answer.
Can anyone help?

I don't think a neshama can feel happy or sad. But a neshama can be tarnished by aveiros you did causing the you to feel sad. And a neshama can sparkle and shine by the mitzvos you did making you a happy person!

You are your neshomo, so of course it feels. Your deepest self, deeper than your feelings, intellect and desires is your core self, your neshomo, which is a piece of Hashem Himself. That's why we are called the child of Hashem, because our neshomo is a developed piece of Hashem just like a child is physically developed from his parents.
Our neshomo is happy when Hashem is happy, because it's Hashems child

Thank you.
She came from a point of view that sometimes we say a neshomo is hurting and that's why a person is struggling to keep mitzvos.

It's the neshama who hears and sees and feels not the eyes and ears
