Does anybody use a 7 qt kitchenaid for making challah from 5 lbs flour? My 29 year old Magic Mill is on its last leg and I want a kitchenaid but only if it will be good for Challah. Thanks!

I have a KitchenAid. I think if I was choosing now I would've gotten the Bosch instead. The KitchenAid struggles a bit with challah dough, I don't think it's as strong.

Bosch usually has a stronger motor than Kitchenaid. Look at the power on the different models. I know when I was looking the kitchenaid models varied by quite a lot, some had only a very low watt, which would mean the motor would burn out quite fast.

I used to have the 6 qt and that kitchenaid struggled with dough but the 7 qt is great and I like it.. but can be a lot pricier than a bosch.. look around for deals if you prefer the kitchenaid

Thanks, I will compare the motors. My husband as a child of survivors doesn't want to buy a Bosch, I know they're not manufactured in Germany but I can't win this one!
