I have two boys and don’t know a good way. Tried doing it in a mesh bag but once opened and ruined all the tzitzis. Now I hand wash which is annoying and feel it’s not getting washed so good. Another question, after how many wears do they get washed? And do they wear the same ones for at night and day? Can’t seem to get the Tzitzis cleaning situation straight

This much I know, that there is no tzitzis at night. Even 4 cornered pajamas don't get tzitzis.

I used to hand wash, but after a few boys it got to be too much work. Then I did the blue tzitizis protectors for years, but I found that they ripped too much.
Recently I started to put them in knee highs. I gather four corners, put in one sock, then knot it. I unknot and remove knee high when they come out of the machine, and hang dry.

Here's what I do - This will only work with a top loader washing machine.

I have a basket in my laundry room for white shirts and tzitzis. When it is full, I put all the SHIRTS in the machine. I dump in a bunch of Oxy Clean powder, in addition to detergent. Then, I fill up the machine on Hot. Once it's full, I pause it, add all the tzitzis, and agitate them around a bit by hand, keeping them on top of the shirts. Then, I leave it all in there to soak for at least a few hours, often overnight. Then, I take out all the tzitzis, rinse them out in the sink, and hang to dry on a rack.
Then, restart the machine so the shirts finish getting washed.

Takes out all the stains in the shirts too.

I hope this changes your life the way it changed mine!!!

I tie each corner's strings in a slip knot and wash them in the delicate cycle and hang to dry.

Put the strings into sheer knee highs and knot it. Can do multiple at once. Spray and bleach with whites. Air dry. Comes out perfect. Brand matters too. Some cheap and don’t last long

I'm surprised no one posted this. So many people I know use this for washing tzitzis. I bought it on Amazon. I put the strings of the tzitzis inside and throw the tzitzis in with the rest of the laundry. Hang dry.

I wonder if that's okay... Tzitzis have kedusha. I wonder whether it would be considered a bezayon to be washed in that manner. Idk, maybe I'm too sensitive What

This is what I was referring to above. I couldn't remember the name. I have been using them for years. I found that if you don't wrap it perfectly, it is more likely to rip.

even when I use the blue thing or mesh bag, it ruins the strings....I haven't found anything better than handwashing and that is not a great method for me...

I wash them in regular loads and hang to dry no issue. If they’re ever tangled they’re easy enough to gently untangle. I found the special bags made them more tangled not less.

The blue thing that you are referring to does not work for me. Especially with smaller ones they just come out. And my husband are way too big. They don’t fit in there. I’m still trying to figure out a good way after being married for over 25 years.
