My child got stitches over the summer, and while it’s BH healed there’s definitely a scar. Do I just wait it out, or is there something I should be doing?

You must apply a scar cream like mederma, MR cream.... every day for a year if you want it to heal nicely. It's a bit late to start now but better late then never.
(I have a scar on my face from when I got stitches at 3 years old. My parents didn't know that they're supposed to put something on the scar.)

Do not let them go out in the sun without sunscreen.
My sil told me this when my 1 yr old had a cut glued, I was religiously doing for about 5 yrs.
After I stopped (completely forgot to do it each morning before she went to gan and was out playing in Israeli sun all morning) her scar became noticeable, hardly saw it before.
Glue scars are not as strong as stitches, so not sure if it will be that much of a difference as we had
