I've snipped tongue ties on two of my kids as newborns.
Now some of my other kids are showing symptoms of possible tongue tie including unclear speech and dental issues. Who can help me diagnose if they actually have ties that need releasing?
Also what's better snip or laser?
Ages of kids concerned are 13, 10, and 4.

A good dentist or speech therapist with experience in that area should be able to diagnose. From what I've heard, laser is better- less blood during the procedure. ( I've had 2 kids with tongue ties get laser and one also had a lip tie).

Dina Ezagui is a myofunctional therapist who will asses and tell you what therapies to do before and after. Snipping an older child is not a magic solution, you need a lot of therapy after to see the changes you need.
She’s amazing, I’ve used her for my kids. Google for her info.

I've heard Dina's name before. Is there anyone like her closer to Monsey?

Recently did frenotomy (snipping tongue tie) for my 7 year old due to speech and other concerns. ENT did it…was a procedure with anesthesia due to his age. Seems to have helped somewhat with the speech.

His speech therapist noticed that he had a very tight tongue tie that was contributing to speech concerns. I showed ENT who agreed and scheduled frenotomy. Same child has had ear tubes when younger and the process was pretty similar honestly. anesthesia and then the procedure itself was a few minutes. once he was up, I took him home. recovery wasn’t more than a day or so. no restrictions on eating after etc

I also need to do it for my 8 year old.
Does she need speech therapy before and after so that it doesn’t heal back into a tongue tie the way it was originally?
I prefer to do just the snipping/ laser without the therapy sessions.
