This seems like a trend. Especially the quieter more reserved ones. Esp when they’re little and thumb sucking.

Spend one on one time with each kid.
My dad used to take us out in turn to go shopping. I'll always remember the quality time and learning how to bag groceries.
I'm not sure what activity is good for younger kids.. I'm sure other more experience moms might have better suggestions.

Firstly ditch the thumb and do whatever you can to get rid of it. You will see a total personality change after.
Those quiet ones are yummy to snuggle with, read in bed together, lie in their bed at bedtime and schmooze, quietly tell child secrets how much you love them....

Do whatever you'd do with non middle kids. You don't seem to be concerned about those so it seems you're confident in what you're doing.
