My teenage son is just told me that for a few weeks already he has eye lid flutters. He just told me. I'll have to take him to a Dr. Of course Google is scaring the wits out of me.
It's only one eye and it's not constant. It comes and it goes.
What can it be?

Please don’t panic. Sometimes people get eyelid twitches for all sort of reasons, like not getting enough sleep. If it’s something that has only been going on a short time, and there’s no other suspicious symptoms (pain, redness, swelling, etc) I really wouldn’t panic. You should call and speak to the doctor to ease your fears and see if he needs further examination, but most likely iyh he’s going to be fine.

I have this on occasion. It’s just some irritated nerve or something like that. It goes away after a few hours or days depending. Do get it checked out though so you have some peace of mind

I get eye lid twitches whenever I don’t sleep enough. It’s likely lack of sleep or not eating properly. Unlikely to be serious.

For me it's from a lack of sleep.
Or lack of magnesium.

I get it too. Comes from lack of sleep and magnesium deficiency.
Although Google will tell you it’s a brain tumor…..

I had this as a teen. I looked into it then and saw that it often comes from lack of sleep. It made sense, since I definitely was often sleep deprived. I never get them now.

This. I asked my eye doctor about it, he said no caffeine for 1 week, and then I can slowly start again. Really helped!

I get eyelid twitches, toe twitches, and finger twitches, all the time!! Sometimes they last days or weeks.
They always end up going away.
Please don't panic!

Yes exactly! I have to keep on reminding myself that it's only one eye and it's not constant because what I think is that if it would be that serious it would affect both eyes. On the other hand, who knows.... Google probably knows better than I do. My son told me I shouldn't worry he's feeling perfectly fine nothing else is bothering him. And over shabbos I kept thinking that I didn't ask him enough questions. Boy oh boy I'm laughing at myself where my nutty brain is taking me too
